Athlete of The Week Week of SEPTEMBER 13-september 18, 2010
Holcomb High School Female Athlete Breanna G.
Breanna G . has been nominated for Holcomb High School Athlete of the Week for Volleyball. Breanna had a strong showing in Minneola and played well in the Dighton Tournament on Saturday. We are starting to look to Bre as a go-to hitter and she has stepped up to take that role. Breanna has also done nice job of stepping up to be one of our more consistent serve receivers. Holcomb High School Male Athlete Roberto G.
Roberto G. has been nominated for Holcomb High School Athlete of the Week for Cross Country. Roberto had a great race placing 8th out of the 66 JV runners. This is Roberto's first season in Cross Country and he is showing great improvement and potential as a distance runner. Roberto ran a very determined race under difficult conditions. We are looking forward to Roberto's future contributions to our team. Roberto is just one position from running on the Varsity. Great Job Roberto!! HS Cross Country Coach: Lindall Cox
Holcomb Jr. High School Female Athlete Faith B.
Faith B. has been nominated for Holcomb Jr. High School Athlete of the Week for Volleyball. Faith has been a very positive leader for the 7th grade Volleyball Team both on and off the floor. Faith works very hard in practice and is determined to make herself and her teammates better. Faith has a great work ethic and attitude and it carries over into the matches. Holcomb Jr. High School Male Athlete Colby C.
Colby C. has been nominated for Holcomb Jr. High School Athlete of the Week for Football. Colby had an outstanding game against Scott City last week. As our quarterback, Colby took control of our offense and led them on some impressive scoring drives. Colby was our second leading rusher for the game. Colby showed this week that he is capable of gaining respect and leadership on this team through his play on the field. He is leading by example on and off the field. Congratulations Colby!!
