Rachel C.
Rachel C. has been nominated for High School Athlete
of the Week for Golf. Rachel stepped up at the State Golf
Tournament Monday at Emporia Municipal Golf Course to help lead the
Holcomb Lady Longhorn Golf Team to a 3rd Place State Finish for 3A.
Rachel shot 50 on the front nine and 50 on the back for a score of 100.
Rachel finished her High School Golf Career by finishing 6th Place
individually out of 90 golfers at the State Meet. Congratulations
Rachel!!

High School Male Athlete
Luke P.

Luke P. has been nominated for High School Athlete
of the Week for Cross Country. Luke made All-League by finishing
14th at the League Meet on Thursday. This was Luke's first Varsity
run at the League Meet. Luke's finish helped lift the Holcomb
Longhorn Cross Country Team to a League Championship. Luke's work
ethic and positive attitude have helped his performance this season, as
Luke has run in the Top 5 on our team all season. Cross Country
Teams are no better than their depth runners and that is why Luke and
his teammates have won the last six races in a row. This was the
Holcomb Cross Country Team's 5th consecutive High Plains League
Championship!! Congratulations!

Jr. High School Female Athlete
Johna M.

Johna M. was nominated as the Jr. High School Girls
Volleyball Athlete of the Week. Johna is a member of the 8th Grade Lady
Longhorn Volleyball Team. Johna has become an important aspect of
our setting team. Along with her hitting and passing ability, Johna plays
a dominant role as our second setter when not in the back row. Johna has
stepped up to the challenge asked of her with great determination and success.
I appreciate Johna's dedication to the game of Volleyball. Way to go Johna!!

Jr. High School Male Athlete
Trey W.

Trey W. was nominated as the Jr. High School Boys Football
Athlete of the Week. Trey was very active on both sides of the football in
our game against Southwestern Heights. Trey was in on numerous tackles and
his blocks were integral to our rushing game. Trey has been a hard worker
and a good leader. Congratulations Trey!!
