Holcomb High School Female Athlete

Karissa P.

Karissa P. has been nominated for Holcomb High School Athlete of the Week for Basketball.  Karissa has played valuable quarters in both JV and Varsity, being a spark on the defensive end as well as an offensive threat scoring off numerous steals.  In the games against Sublette she scored 6 points in just 2 quarters of JV, vs Hugoton she had 8 points in just 2 quarters, and vs Cimarron 8 points in the JV and chipped in 5 points in the Varsity.  Karissa leads by example with her work ethic both on and off the court.  She always shows good sportsmanship to her teammates, opponents, and referrees.  As a coaching staff, we are very pleased with Karissa's progress as a Freshman and are looking forward to the leadership she will bring to the team in the next three years.  Congratulations Karissa!!

HS Girls Basketball Coach:  Kelley Snodgrass

 Holcomb High School Male Athlete

Keegan A.

Keegan A. has been nominated for Holcomb High School Athlete of the Week for Wrestling.  Keegan qualifed for the 3-2-1 A State Wrestling Tournament by placing 4th at the Regional Tournament at Hoisington February 20th.  Keegan is the first Freshman to do this for Holcomb High School.  In the match to determine whether or not Keegan would go to State, Keegan edged out his opponent from Lakin by a   1-0 decision.  Keegan has continued to improve throughout the season and has worked hard to earn a trip to the State Tournament.  Keegan has an excellent work ethic in the practice room and has a big desire to be successful.  Even though he is a quite a bit smaller physically than most of his opponents, Keegan doesn't let that be an excuse in whether he wins or loses.  His competitiveness rubs off on his teammates and helps them to work harder too.  Congratulations Keegan!!

HS Boys Wrestling Coach:  Ryan Kromer

Holcomb Jr. High School Female Athlete

Olivia O.

Olivia O. has been nominated for Holcomb Jr. High School Athlete of the week for Basketball.  Olivia is a member of the Middle School Girls 8th grade basketball team.  Olivia has helped lead our team via post and guard.  I appreciate her ability to play down low or guard position when we need quick hands or shots at the elbow.  Olivia's aggressiveness has lead to many steals and rebounds.  I also appreciate her hard work throughout the season and leadership both on and off the court.  Congratulations Olivia!!

MS Girls Basketball Coach:  Jackie Robinson

Holcomb Jr. High School Male Athlete
